The terms for using Markor.

The service

Markor provides web-based estimating software for architectural millwork: takeoff, assembly building, pricing, reports, requests for quotation and requests for information, and an optional connection to your Microsoft 365 mailbox. Markor is currently offered as an alpha release. Features will change, and some may be withdrawn, as the product develops.

Accounts

You need an account to use Markor. Keep your sign-in details private, and tell us right away if you think someone else is using them. An estimating manager or administrator at your company can add, change and deactivate accounts for that company and is responsible for who has access.

Your content

Everything you upload or build in Markor, including drawings, specifications, takeoffs, estimates and reports, belongs to you or to your company. You give Markor the permission it needs to store, process and display that content in order to provide the service, and for no other purpose. You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload.

Estimates are yours to check

Markor reads documents and builds estimates automatically. It will sometimes miss something or get something wrong. Every quantity, price and proposal Markor produces is a draft for a qualified estimator to review before it is relied on or sent to a customer. Markor is not responsible for the outcome of a bid.

Connected services

When you connect Microsoft 365, Markor creates drafts in your own mailbox using the permissions you grant. Your use of Microsoft 365 remains subject to Microsoft's terms. You can disconnect at any time. Our privacy statement explains exactly what the connection does and does not do.

Acceptable use

Do not use Markor to break the law, to upload content you have no right to, to interfere with the service or with other customers, or to reverse engineer, scrape or resell it. Do not try to access another company's data.

Fees

During the alpha, access is by invitation and any fees are agreed in writing with you. When paid plans are introduced we will publish the pricing and give existing users notice before anything changes.

Availability and support

We work to keep Markor available and to fix problems quickly, but as an alpha product it is provided without any uptime commitment. Support is by email at [email protected].

Warranty and liability

Markor is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, Markor is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost profits or lost bids, arising from use of the service, and Markor's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Markor and ask us to close your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. When an account closes, your content is deleted as described in the privacy statement, and you can ask for an export before that happens.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product grows. If a change matters, we will tell you inside the product or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Markor after that date means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Markor is organised, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
